Dead by Daylight’s 2v8 Game Mode has made a return, introducing a “Play-While-You-Wait” feature aimed at enhancing the player experience. While this iteration does not introduce new Killers, it focuses on addressing matchmaking downtime to provide a smoother gameplay experience.
The current version of the 2v8 Game Mode is set to run from August 19th to September 2nd, offering players a chance to engage in matches while waiting for their turn in the queue. This feature aims to alleviate the frustration caused by long queue times, particularly for Killer players, by allowing them to play Survivor matches while retaining their spot in the Killer queue.
One significant update in this iteration revolves around The Legion, a group of formidable Killers from Canada. Responding to player feedback, adjustments have been made to balance gameplay, such as reducing the time spent in Frenzy and the number of visible Killer Instinct Targets. These changes aim to create a more enjoyable experience for both Survivors and Killers.
Survivor classes have also undergone updates to enhance gameplay dynamics. The Guide class, in particular, has received new perks like Blast Mine, Wiretap, and Wake Up to increase interaction with Killers and provide strategic advantages during gameplay. These additions aim to make the Guide class more engaging and appealing to players.
Another Survivor class, the Escapist, now features an Active Ability that grants a temporary sprint boost to nearby Survivors while silencing Rushed Actions. This tweak aims to prevent instances where players would become Exhausted simply by sprinting near an Escapist, adding a strategic element to gameplay.
Additionally, new maps like Greenville Square, Lérys Memorial Institute, and Shattered Square have been introduced to diversify the gaming experience. These map additions aim to provide players with fresh challenges and environments to explore during gameplay.
Participating in the 2v8 Game Mode offers players the opportunity to earn unlockable rewards such as the Gory Piñata Charm, the Dwight-focused Life of the Party Portrait, and the Claudette-focused Sharing Time Portrait. Daily login rewards further incentivize player engagement during the duration of the Game Mode.
As the Dead by Daylight team looks forward to future editions of the 2v8 Game Mode, players can expect ongoing improvements and exciting gameplay experiences in The Fog. Stay tuned for more updates and enhancements as the game continues to evolve.
