Sony has brought the highly anticipated Stellar Blade to the PC platform, powered by Unreal Engine 4. With this release, it’s time to delve into the benchmarking and performance analysis of the game on PC.
For the benchmark tests, a variety of high-end components were employed, including an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D processor, 32GB of DDR5 RAM running at 6000Mhz, and a selection of GPUs from both AMD and NVIDIA. The game offers a range of PC graphics settings that allow players to customize the experience, including adjustments for Shadows, Textures, Lighting, and Characters, along with exclusive 4K Texture Pack support for the PC version. Notably, the game supports NVIDIA DLSS 4 and AMD FSR 3.0 technologies, enhancing the visual fidelity and performance.
Despite the absence of a built-in benchmark tool, the Prologue/Beach area served as a demanding test environment for the game’s performance evaluation. At 1080p resolution and maximum settings, Stellar Blade showcased impressive scalability across various CPU configurations. Even on dual-core setups, the game managed to deliver over 70FPS, with substantial performance gains observed on quad-core systems.
Across the tested GPUs, including the NVIDIA RTX 2080Ti and AMD Radeon series, Stellar Blade maintained high framerates at 1080p resolution. The AMD GPUs, in particular, outperformed their NVIDIA counterparts, highlighting the game’s optimization for AMD hardware.
Advancing to 1440p resolution, all GPUs continued to provide a smooth gaming experience, with even the older RTX 2080Ti delivering respectable framerates. The performance at this resolution underscored the game’s optimization and efficient resource utilization.
At Native 4K resolution with maximum settings, the top-tier GPUs consistently achieved framerates exceeding 60FPS, with minor fluctuations observed on some GPUs. For optimal performance at 4K resolution, the utilization of DLSS or FSR technologies was recommended to maintain smooth gameplay.
While Stellar Blade boasts visually appealing art style, it does not introduce groundbreaking graphical innovations. The addition of 4K textures enhances the overall visual quality, contributing to a satisfying visual experience. Despite lacking Ray Tracing features, the game’s performance remained stable, with minimal stuttering issues reported during gameplay.
Overall, Stellar Blade emerges as a well-optimized PC game that caters to a broad range of systems, offering solid performance and visual fidelity. The inclusion of DLSS and FSR support further enhances the gameplay experience, ensuring smooth operation on various PC configurations.
